The older I get the more precious life becomes. I realize year after year how much the world outside of me has changed. I also realize how much I have changed. What happened in my 20’s and 30’s no longer seems relevant. This past year I have been a part of so many different peoples lives and some of them have been hard. Hard on them and hard on me. All of which has brought me to understand more fully how great life truly is.
This past month three people I know have passed to the other side and two have been hospitalized. All of these people have reminded me what to be grateful for. I truly feel that each time someone we know is sick or dying it is a reminder that we need to appreciate every single aspect of our life. It is sometimes in the losing, or witnessing that we get the message.
So what am I grateful for??? Just about everything. I am grateful to be alive when there is so much opportunity in the air. I am grateful for all of my relationships past, present and future. I am grateful to be an American woman who has the potential to break the glass ceiling. I am grateful for my freedom. Freedom to pick and choose who I decide to be based on my passions and understandings. I am grateful for the belief in myself and that my potential is unlimited. I am grateful for clean air and water. I am grateful for healthy children. I am grateful so much more.
When we practice gratitude every single day… our life changes for the better. Not just on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a reminder to all Americans that if your are living here…… you my friend have won the lottery in this thing called life. You are blessed in so many ways. Just start by counting them daily. Maybe start with your fingers and your toes, then your eyes and your ears. If you don’t believe ask someone who can not see or hear. When we practice gratitude for all that is well in our life it becomes a habit and we thrive as individuals. Remember that Happiness is a magnet. Bless others with your attitude. Stop and think before the words come out of your mouth. Is it kind, thoughtful and generous? If not don’t say it. What comes out of your mouth says to the World everything about You!!! Living in gratitude is so easy. Find the good in every person, every day for as long as you can. Start with people and it will unfold into nature, business, schools, government and eventually the planet. Every time you go to work be grateful for the job. When you send your kids to school be grateful for the school. Be grateful for our freedom thanks to our military and our forefathers. Any energy directed to living our best life will be felt by all we encounter. It is called physics. It is that simple. So now that I have gone off on a tangent about the giving thanks. I need to get my turkey basted. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am grateful to my readers.
Count your blessings anyway that you can and remember ……..who is better than you???
NOBODY!

All good thoughts. We have much to be grateful for every day, including friends like you. Don’t forget to give yourself a kinehoreh among all the blessings. You’ll want to ward off the evil eye.
Writing is an Art. Writing about important life events is a skill. Gratitude is something learned and earned, sometimes through very difficult and painful life experiences.
Its important to reflect early on gratitude before jumping to conclusions on what others have or how lucky they are, Thus we don’t always know what they’ve been through.
Your blog tells me those things, i have learned and I have read from your sharing, and i will use.
Well said julie S
